Rising fuel price trends, concern over climate change and the need to meet regulatory requirements all focus renewed priorities on the conservation of energy. As a long-time applications leader in energy conservation programs, Seaworthy’s engineers are proficient in efficiency enhancement analysis and system improvements aboard U.S. Navy ships fitted with gas turbine, diesel engine and steam turbine propulsion systems. We have been directly involved with the Naval Sea Systems Command’s (NAVSEA) Energy Conservation (ENCON) program, performing Shipboard Energy Conservation Assistance Team (SECAT) visits on- board U.S. Navy ships, as well as developing Ship Energy Conservation Assistance Program (SECAP) and Optimum Ship Transit Program (OSTP) software. Other efforts have involved thermal barrier coatings and water/fuel emulsion systems, both of which reduce fuel consumption while lowering emissions, and the development of a Sludge

Concentration System that allows for the recovery of otherwise wasted fuel, reducing disposal volume up to 90%.
