Traffic Mitigation
Seaworthy provides turnkey services for new water transportation system start-ups, reducing road traffic of both people and freight. One on-going example is our roll-on, roll-off barge transport system for Boston Harbor’s Water Resources Authority. Daily, up to two hundred “18 wheelers” can be transported to and from the construction

site, eight miles across Boston Harbor. We designed and financed a major part of the system and its hauling equipment.

Noise Mitigation
The impact of elevated noise levels on operating personnel, passengers, and the surrounding environment is becoming increasingly important. Our engineers are involved with noise surveys, source identification and control. Recently, a new passenger ferry had noise levels so high that it could not be placed in service. Through our efforts the noise level in the passenger spaces was reduced to below owner’s requirements. We also developed noise specifications and test procedures for a double hull tank barge so that it could utilize its diesel powered pumps 24 hours a day in a residential neighborhood.
